The Tobacco Dial      -      Vignette dials on Day Dates are just magical. Very few only know that these Degrade dials bear the same lacquer like on Stella dials coming from the same factory, Stella SA. Some even call them Stella dials. With a complicated centrifugal technique the degrade look was created. The concentrated color in the middle in combination with the black outer portion is definitively an eye catcher, something we don't see often. This particular example with the Tobacco brown dial is stunning and much more uncommon than the blue, red and green Vignette dials. The dial kind of melts together with the slightly patina'd and sharp, fat case.  This is a watch where pictures don't do justice. The reflections of the fluted bezel and diamonds on the dial give it a very warm vintage look, something you have to see in person. The lighting will do its magic.

Brief History

Rolex Day-Date

Rolex revolutionized the industry in 1956 with the Day-Date model, innovatively displaying the day and date through dedicated windows on the dial. It is the pinnacle of the Rolex collection with its multitude of configurations. Made exclusively from precious metals, featuring coveted dials like Onyx, Stone, and Stella, and often embellished with diamond settings and distinctive case decorations.
