Woody Woodpecker       -       what we have here is a really rare bird, the Rolex Oysterquartz Day Date reference 19019 in white gold. It is known that in total, about 25,000 Oysterquartz models have been produced over a time span of approx. 25 years and this includes all metals. I would say a white gold Oysterquartz is not that easy to come by, especially with uncommon or rare dials. We have to keep in mind that the number of White Gold and Platinum Oysterquartz is the lowest within the production and together make maybe 30% of the entire production, maybe less. The dial in this 19019 is a rare Birch Wood dial with a very warm and bright color. The hands, indexes and crown are in silver color, means the dial is for a white metal watch, this enhances the rarity tremendously. The idea of having a piece of wood in your watch is kind of bizarre but it also makes it quite unique, especially because two pieces of wood are never the same.

Brief History

Rolex Day-Date

Rolex revolutionized the industry in 1956 with the Day-Date model, innovatively displaying the day and date through dedicated windows on the dial. It is the pinnacle of the Rolex collection with its multitude of configurations. Made exclusively from precious metals, featuring coveted dials like Onyx, Stone, and Stella, and often embellished with diamond settings and distinctive case decorations.
