| Eye of the Tiger - Rolex hasn't left a stone unturned when it comes to the selection of the materials for their dials. One kind of dial which is used since the early 1970s are Stone dials. These come in a wide spectrum including Lapis, Onyx, Coral, Malachite, Ferrite, Tiger Eye and many many more. The process involves precise cutting, finishing and polishing of the dials and given a high fragility many dials were destroyed even during production. Some stone dials were made for both, white and yellow gold, some only for one of the metals. The Tiger Eye dial was exclusively made for yellow gold examples. This was due to the color hues they came in which included brown, yellow and gold tones. No two dials are the same. The dial is amazing with the largest part being bright gold and only a small portion in dark brown hues. The surface almost looks like a silkily finish, Tiger Eye dials are very mesmerizing. The 'stripes' on the dial almost look like they melted together. This is a rare opportunity to buy a Tiger Eye Day Date in absolute top condition. |

Rolex Day-Date
Arguably one of the most iconic watches ever made, the Day-Date aka the Rolex President was introduced in 1956 and was the first to feature both the day and date in dedicated windows on the dial.
The Day-Date is the top model in the Rolex line-up and comes in an array of configurations with rare and special dials and case decorations. It has only ever been made in precious metals with Automatic movements and historically with an elegant diameter of 36mm - the perfect size for an iconic dress watch.
