A Datejust from 1001 Nights
Arabic–Hindi numerals have always held a special place for us among the most expressive dial variations. Over the years, we’ve handled a number of Day-Dates with these dials, but seeing this configuration on a Datejust is something else entirely. In fact, only the second example we’ve come across on a Datejust reference.
Dating back to 1960, this is an early 1601 configured with the fine millerighe bezel — a softer, more delicate take compared to the standard fluted finish. The case remains in remarkably mint condition with lots of substance, sharp and well-defined lugs and clear case numbers. The finely coin-edge style bezel is also very well preserved for its age.

The ‘Swiss’ signed dial is beautifully preserved and only shows light patina from age. The dial is not only period correct with the case and matching hands but also coherent with the period in which many known Day Dates with Arabic-Hindi numerals dials have appeared. A small but important detail here is also the Arabic date disc that completes the visual appeal.
