Introduced in 2003 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Rolex Submariner, the reference 16610LV marked an important moment in the history of the model. While technically very close to the classic black bezel 16610, Rolex gave the anniversary Submariner its own identity through the now famous green bezel insert — the first time a Submariner had ever left the factory with green details. Collectors quickly gave it the nickname “Kermit”, and over time the watch has become one of the defining neo-vintage Rolex sports models of the modern era.

Beyond the green bezel, the 16610LV also introduced several details that would later shape future Submariner generations, including the larger Maxi dial with broader hands and indexes for improved legibility. Combined with the slimmer proportions of the classic five-digit Submariner case, aluminum bezel insert and drilled vintage-inspired charm, the watch represents what many collectors today see as the ideal balance between vintage and modern Rolex. It retains the elegant dimensions and lightweight feel of earlier Submariners while benefiting from sapphire crystal, strong water resistance and the reliability expected from a contemporary Rolex sports watch.

This example remains in very strong overall condition with a clean dial, well-defined lugs and a tight bracelet showing only honest signs of careful wear. The watch retains the sharp appearance collectors look for in a 16610LV and is accompanied by its original punched warranty certificate and original box, making for a very complete and attractive set.
