Luxury watches with integrated gold bracelets have enjoyed a remarkable revival in recent years, with collectors rediscovering the elaborate designs and craftsmanship of the 1970s and 1980s. Long before today's renewed interest, manufacturers such as Audemars Piguet were creating beautiful dress watches that combined fine watchmaking with the art of jewellery.

This Ref. 14549BC from the 1970s is a wonderful example, crafted entirely in 18K white gold with a factory diamond-set bezel and an unusual pavé mirror dial featuring blue sapphire hour markers. The combination of brilliant diamonds, deep blue sapphires and blued hands gives the watch a particularly luxurious appearance.

Perhaps the most impressive feature is the beautifully executed 13-row integrated white gold bracelet. Made up of individually worked links with an almost mesh-like texture, it flows naturally from the case and gives the watch the appearance of a fine piece of jewellery. Despite its modest 31 mm case, the integrated design gives it plenty of presence on the wrist.

Our example is preserved in excellent vintage condition, showing only light signs of wear. The case retains its well-defined details, hallmarks and engravings, while the original crown and signed AP clasp are also present.
