1984 Rolex Datejust Ref. 16014
Datejust - One of the most iconic Rolex watches and probably the one which has been produced for the longest period is the Datejust. A classic since 1945 when it was born as the first watch with the date shown in a dedicated window on the dial. The Datejust has set the standard for the perfect size of a dress watch. The 36mm Oyster case is suitable for almost every wrist and looks great on Oyster as well as jubilee bracelet. This beautiful Vintage Datejust has the reference 16014 defining the watch to be on stainless steel, with plexi glass and with a quickset date movement. It is the last model before the Datejust was introduced with a sapphire crystal. Its kind of the best of both worlds. The silver dial is an evergreen and will never be out of style. In fact, it goes with everything, can be worn as a casual or formal watch, technically there shouldn't be a reason to take it off. The lumes are nicely aged to a light brown color and matching the hands perfectly. The Jubilee is in great shape and does not show much wear from age. All in all this is a great watch to buy your first Rolex, perhaps from your birth year and even start collecting.

Brief History
Rolex Datejust
Released in 1945 to celebrate the brand’s 40th anniversary, the Datejust was the first automatic chronometer wristwatch to indicate the date through a window on the dial. The Datejust is characterized by its date window under the ‘cyclops’ window. Iconic vintage Datejusts were made in 36mm case diameter, with a range of steel and precious metal versions.
