The Mark 1 Fuchsia

We are offering here a beautiful example of a Rolex GMT Master Ref.1675 from 1968. The watch features the early Mk1 dial with long E graphics and has the grainy dial surface, correct for the serial range. The lumes are original and have the waffle-type texture making it noticeably different than the later 1675 dials. The hands are original and bear original Tritium luminous too and another fine detail is the correct hooked 7 date wheel. The bezel is magnificent with a vibrant Purple color along with a blue that has faded a few shades lighter. The case seems to be unpolished and is showing beautiful factory bevels on the well defined lugs. The case is sharp and overall has a great substance. The matching 7206 rivited Oyster bracelet only shows light wear from age and has 11 links, the correct 68 clasp. We haven't seen many nice Fuchsia GMT recently and definitively not many in overall strong conditions. Collectors want so many boxes ticked when they are on their hunt for their next watch, unpolished cases, clean dials with original and nice luminous, beautiful inserts matching bracelets and so on. They often don't realize what they are asking for until they find examples which are good but don't fulfill all criterias. This very GMT Master ticks all boxes for us, it is truly an awesome watch.

Brief History

Rolex GMT-Master

The GMT Master was launched in 1954 and designed in collaboration with Pan American Airways, with an extra 24h hour hand and bi-color bezel that allowed pilots to track two time zones across day and night. The GMT Master is characterised by an automatic movement and the iconic dual-colour bezel that represents each of the 24 hours in a day.
