Details
Serpico y Laino - The South American Dream. What we have here is a 1961 Rolex Datejust reference 1602 in yellow gold. The case is beautifully factory decorated with the morellis finish present on the bezel and lugs. The geometrical motif on the case is extremely well preserved and also present on the matching tile style bracelet which seems to be hardly worn. The mint condition silver dial with applied batons still has all lume plots fully in place and are matching the hands. This insanely beautiful Datejust was retailed by the famous Venezuelan retailer Serpico y Laino, known as one of the best watches retailers in the whole of South America. Many historically important watches were sold by SyL and they are considerably collectible given the history and provenance of the retailer. We see them popping up at auctions every now and then, and whenever they do, collectors pay sound amounts to get their hands on them. We truly believe this is a rare opportunity to acquire not only a Serpico Y Laino signed Rolex but an exceptionally rare and well preserved example of this very unique and beautiful watch.
