The 1530 - What on the first glance looks like a stainless steel Oysterquartz reference 17000 is actually one of the rarest serial production Rolexes from the 1970s.         The reference 1530 was developed during the Quartz crisis in the 1970s when affordable Quartz watches were taking the market by storm and shaking up the Swiss watch industry. The Rolex labs were already developing a new Quartz movement and it took more than 5 years to complete it and this historically important reference 1530 already had the case and bracelet of the future Oysterquartz that was supposed to be launched in 1977. The history of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Ref. 1530 is indeed a fascinating chapter in the brand's evolution.
