Ovettone
Incredible example of a Rolex Datejust reference 6105 with Gilt dial from 1953, this large Bubble Back is also called Ovettone because of its domed case back. What makes this watch special apart from its condition is the mirror glossy black gilt dial that is just wow. The gilt graphics are crisp and fully present, give striking accents along the facetted dagger shape indexes and leaf hands. The background of red date disc has beautifully aged to a almost golden hue, the domed plexi add so much character. The crown is original and bears the Brevete cross. The yellow gold case is in astonishing condition with its striking Millerighe aka Coin Edge bezel that makes these look so different from later examples. The Jubilee bracelet is in very nice condition and shows that the watch has not had much wrist time over the years. Overall a very rare and highly coveted variant of the Datejust that comes in a dream configuration and in a condition that definitively doesn't show 70 years of age.
