Details
White Gold Bark - here's a very rare Rolex Day Date reference 1807 in white gold. Rolex, up to the 1990s offered case decorations such as the Florentine, Morellis and Bark finish which are all decorations that could, depending on the use and maintenance over time, loose their flair and only very little examples are well preserved and present today. the 1807 is the earliest Day Date featuring the Bark finish. The finish on the bezel and bracelet center links reminds us of the skin of a tree and was hand decorated with a very unique appeal. The Bark finishing especially reacts to the incidence of light which makes it look more precious. The silver Wide Boy dial blends nicely in and still retains the original wide hands. The 1807 is a very sought after reference, especially in white gold and they are very hard to come by.
