The House of Piaget is renowned for its art of creating luxurious watches using complicated techniques of craftsmanship and exotic and lavish materials. From the 1960s - 1990s their timepieces went beyond being instruments of time but were more pieces of art and if we say art then we mean it. It was the brand renowned for pushing the boundaries of creativity and to cater to the rich and famous.
We have here an exceptional example of the reference 9081 A6 from 1976. Manufactured between 1970 and 1976, the reference 9081 A6 stands as an exceptionally rare watch, with, to our knowledge, only 23 pieces produced. This white gold watch becomes even more distinctive with the meticulous application of the renowned bark finish, underscoring Piaget’s unwavering commitment to artistic craftsmanship.
Piaget’s dedication to personalized luxury is exemplified in its special production pieces, often made to order as unique masterpieces for esteemed clients which include Royalties and affluent clients from the Middle East.
In the case of this specific watch, delivered in 1976 to Piaget’s reseller Mouawad, it was commissioned as a special order with a copper-red colour dial featuring an inner Arabic inscription adorned with brilliant-cut diamonds, translating to “Allah.” The watch is powered by the extra-thin self-winding Piaget 9P movement, introduced in 1957 with a thickness of mere 2mm .
This exceptional timepiece, steeped in a rich history and crafted with unparalleled skill, epitomizes Piaget's timeless legacy in haute horlogerie. Its uniqueness underscores Piaget's enduring commitment to exquisite craftsmanship and luxury watchmaking.
