White Gold Datejust - The reference 1601 in white gold is probably one of the most understated watches from the Rolex line-up. Only who know, know. It is not only a very understated but also incredibly rare watch considering that most 1601s were made in stainless steel and two tone, a fair number in yellow gold and only a small number of pieces were manufactured in white and pink gold. We have here a astonishing example of a white gold 1601 dating back to 1973. The case is sharp and in healthy conditions showing only light wear from age considering it is a 50-years old watch. The dial is beautiful and very uncommon, a glossy greyish-anthracite dial that gives the watch a very exclusive and subtle look. With the growing demand on vintage Day Dates the quest for rare precious metal Datejust has gone up too and we think this is a pretty rare bird.

Brief History
Rolex Day-Date
Created to celebrate Rolex's 40th anniversary in 1954, the Rolex Datejust was the first automatic wristwatch to indicate the date on the dial, featuring the iconic window at 3 o'clock magnified by the Cyclops lens for enhanced legibility, and so far remains one of Rolex's best-selling watches.
