The Rolex GMT Master 16750 is the transitional model to the later Sapphire crystal version, the last GMT Master produced with a plexi crystal. The quickset date feature distinguishes it mainly from the earlier 1675 reference and making it more attractive for collectors of modern watches. The 16750 was launched in 1979/1980 and was first issued with a matte dial, similar to the earlier 1675 reference which transitioned in the mid 1980s to the glossy dial with white gold surrounds around the tritium lumes. Due to the short production run until 1988 the 16750 exists in much lower examples than any other GMT Master reference. It is safe to say that the glossy 16750 has been only produced for 3-4 years. The collectors market has noted this and grown a stronger demand for this reference in the past years. This very example is offered in mint condition and with original paperwork ranging from the certificate to different sets of Service papers from Rolex Japan.
