A Gold GMT-Master II
The GMT-Master was designed to show the time in two places at once. By 1990, the GMT-Master II also allowed the local hour hand to be adjusted separately, a useful feature when travelling. This Ref. 16718 takes that practical watch and gives it a very different look in full 18k yellow gold.
The glossy black dial and black bezel work particularly well against the gold case. Its tritium hour markers have aged to a warm cream colour, with matching hands. The 40 mm case has been polished in the past, but the case numbers remain crisp, and the bezel insert shows little wear.
Gold Rolex sports models have gained a stronger following among collectors in recent years. This one has the presence you would expect from a full gold watch, while still looking every bit like a GMT-Master II. Its solid gold Oyster bracelet remains tight for its age and has 13 links; the clasp is dated 2001. The watch comes with its box and booklets.
