Details
The Submariner reference 5513 is the most iconic and important Submariner reference. The production period was from 1962 until 1989, the longest run for a Submariner reference. The early Gilt dials transitioned in 1967 to the matte dial and in the early 1980's to the glossy dial with white gold surroundings. The current example bears the second dial variant for the matte dial, the Feet First Serif dial which corresponds with the serial range of this example. The serial number dates the watch back to 1971 making this is an early example of the Serif dial. The offered watch is preserved overall in mint condition bearing all original parts including the original folded Oyster bracelet. The dial is flawless and the lumes on the dial are beautifully aged to a vivid vanilla color, matching with the lumes on the hands. An all time classic watch for the demanding collector but also for someone who will appreciate condition.
