Circa 1940 Hermès Smoking Set with Original Presentation Case
Opening the original fitted case is part of the pleasure of this Hermès set. Inside are five matching pieces: two ashtrays, two cigarette holders and a matchbox holder, all finished in silver gilt. Made in France around 1940, they recall an era when even the smallest objects on a table were given careful thought.
The case makes this example especially appealing. It keeps the pieces together as they were originally presented and turns the set into something wonderful to display, even when it is not in use. A beautiful find for a collector of vintage Hermès and finely made objects.
