Description

Cartier’s table clocks can be just as interesting as its watches, and this 1950s example has a wonderful presence. The clear Lucite dial gives the gilt Arabic numerals and pointed hour markers an almost floating appearance, while the warm brass frame gives the clock its shape. At the centre is the Cartier signature and the discreet “8” marking for its eight-day movement.

Measuring approximately 18 × 19 cm, it is large enough to make an impression on a desk or shelf. The clock is in very nice vintage condition, with wear and some loss to the lacquered finish from age. It has the character you hope to find in an original piece from this period.
