Description
Porthole clocks have established themselves as iconic designs in the world of clocks. Several brands have followed this trend over the years but the original designs to our knowledge are coming from Jaeger LeCoultre and Hermes, some examples are even double signed, proudly showing off their long standing partnership.
This beautiful example by Hermes from the 1970s features a signed Silver dial and features an alarm function. This timepiece, being an alarm clock even features Tritium luminous dots and hands which are fully intact.
The case is made of heavy gilt brass that beautifully contrasts with the beautiful and clean Silver dial. The mechanics of opening the clock are very practical, simply unscrew the large screw,which is part of the design and release the lever to get access to the winding mechanism. A great alarm clock for the night stand that will make you smile every morning you wake up to it.
