Details
Steve McQueen - to get it straight right from the beginning, Steve McQueen was never seen wearing a Rolex Explorer II Ref.1655 but nevertheless already a few decades ago this model was nicknamed with the legend's name, we don't know why but we are not surprised either, both stand for the king of Cool. The Explorer II 1655 is a perfect example of Rolex's ability to create something iconic and at the same time robust enough to endure a lifetime. With the distinctive dial configuration and Orange Arrow hand its got this very different appearance on the wrist. This very example is from 1975 and is in a very attractive overall condition. The case and bracelet are strong and crisp showing healthy proportions. The dial is clearly the main feature here, a flawless period correct MK4 dial with a patina to die for. The color is definitively a light pumpkin shade which in the sunlight transforms to proper Pumpkin. A very very cool Freccione with great colors that will definitively not go unnoticed.
