UAE Armed Forces - when it comes to commemorative Rolex watches of the UAE, there have been quite a few different references. Small Oysters, Datejusts, Day Dates and Sports Rolexes which all hold historical significance. Most of these watches were presented as gifts to Officers of the Army, foreign dignitaries and guests of State marking important events and achievements for the UAE Armed Forces. We are thrilled to offer a great example of a Rolex Day Date reference 18038 from 1978 with UAE Armed Forces logo on the dial. While most of the UAE Armed Forces Day Dates have a champagne, silver or brown dial color, this is a rare variant with a white dial. Given the nature of the colors, the logo looks more prominent and clear on white background. The hour indexes have nicely patina'd while the white dial is in impeccable condition. Paired with a green Alligator strap this watch is a feast for the eye and a piece of UAE history

Brief History
Rolex Day-Date
Arguably one of the most iconic watches ever made, the Day-Date aka the Rolex President was introduced in 1956 and was the first to feature both the day and date in dedicated windows on the dial.
The Day-Date is the top model in the Rolex line-up and comes in an array of configurations with rare and special dials and case decorations. It has only ever been made in precious metals with Automatic movements and historically with an elegant diameter of 36mm - the perfect size for an iconic dress watch.
