Near New Old Stock - Here's one of our favourite quotes "I am easily satisfied with the very best". Winston Churchill was a wise man but what if he was a vintage Rolex collector? Yes, even he would have had a tough life. Collecting vintage Rolex is a beautiful rewarding hobby but comes with a struggle, the hunt for condition. We are looking for unpolished cases, flawless dials, killer Patina and the list goes on. On this journey we often compromise on certain points on the list but what if a watch ticks all the boxes, right - that's the Jackpot. And so is this incredible Rolex GMT Master. This 5.8m Serial example features the MK5 and so-called Maxi dial dating back to 1978 and the correct red back Pepsi insert. It has a razor sharp unpolished case with well defined lugs showing the untouched factory bevels. The only signs of wear are on the sides of the case which are very subtle. The case back still retains a layer of the protective reference sticker and the backside of the lugs hardly shows any wear. The areas for reference and serial numbers are like brand new, not showing wear from a bracelet  We assume this watch was probably sold or worn on a  leather strap only, there are zero signs that a bracelet was attached to the watch. When we bought this watch we quickly realized that we won't be able to find a period bracelet in similar condition so we went and bought a brand new 62510H Jubilee bracelet which harmonizes perfectly with the case and still has all protective stickers on it. This is one of those opportunities to find a 42- years old  Rolex GMT Master 1675 which still looks like new or even - better than new.

Brief History

Rolex GMT-Master

The GMT Master was launched in 1954 and designed in collaboration with Pan American Airways, with an extra 24h hour hand and bi-color bezel that allowed pilots to track two time zones across day and night. The GMT Master is characterised by an automatic movement and the iconic dual-colour bezel that represents each of the 24 hours in a day.
