The Maxi King - The Rolex Submariner 5512 with Maxi MK1 dial is a grail among the Maxi dial Submariners, its not only once that I heard from collectors that if they would have to choose one watch only, it would be a Maxi 5512. The Submariner in general is the most iconic Dive watch of all times and the 5513 is for sure the most iconic reference but is it also the rarest - no, it is not. With a short production run of only 1 to 2 years around 1978 the 5512 Maxi is truly rare fella among the matte dial Submariners. With the 4 line print it is easily distinguishable from any 5513. This stunning example features a flawless dial with large lume plots that have aged to a ivory-cream color and are in great condition. The hands are matching and are aged perfectly like the lumes on the dial. The case and bezel are evenly in great condition and only show little wear from age. The striking colors on the dial and the sharp bezel further give this watch a strong appearance on the wrist. The rarity and condition of this extremely well preserved 5512 make it very attractive for seasoned collectors.
