The 1680 reference was launched in 1967 as the first Submariner in the line-up which had a date. To mark this, the word Submariner was printed in red color until the white Submariner variant was launched in ca 1977. The current example is from 1978 and houses a MK2 dial with vivid cream patina which really is the highlight of this watch. The lumes really pop out on the back dial and blend nicely with the beautifully aged dark gunmetal grey insert. Its a beautiful example of a vintage Submariner Date offered in a great full set with box and certificate.
