Details
The Pre-Comex - No, the Pre-Comex dials have not been issued to Comex, the nickname was given because this dial configuration is showing similar characteristics to the Comex 5514 dials. These 5513s appear in the 5m serial range and bear a coronet which can be described very fat in the bottom. Further the L from Rolex has a strong serif and is positioned more to the right under the coronet. One more characteristic are the open 6s in the depth rating line. This watch is in overall very nice condition with a strong case and bezel, the lumes on the dial and hands have aged to a pretty consistent mango color which even the bezel pearl has taken on. The bezel insert has aged to a degrading gunmetal grey, showing a beautiful hue when exposed to sunlight. This is a great example of a Vintage 5513 and given the configuration, one which doesn't come up much. We are pleased to offer this for sale.
