The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date ref. 1503 has long been appreciated by collectors for offering all the qualities that define a classic vintage Rolex in a slightly more restrained format. Sharing much of its design language with the Datejust, the 34mm Oyster case wears beautifully and remains one of the most versatile sizes Rolex ever produced. This particular example is made even more special by the presence of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces emblem on its beautifully preserved sunburst champagne dial, combining timeless Rolex design with an important chapter of UAE history.

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the United Arab Emirates established a remarkable tradition of presenting fine Swiss watches as gifts to members of the armed forces, government officials, visiting dignitaries and individuals whose service deserved recognition. The warm champagne sunburst dial changes beautifully with the light, while the applied baton indexes and elegant Oyster case create a watch that feels both refined and effortlessly wearable. The watch has remained unpolished, retaining crisp case proportions and sharp lines throughout – showing a rosy patina on the gold case, a result from storage over a very long period of time.
