The Black Bark - We have always been strong in Day Dates but this year, in our opinion, has been the year of the Day Date. We have seen a big rise in the appreciation of vintage Day Dates of all kinds and apart from the market prices for most examples going up, there has been a lack of offerings on the rarer Stella and Stone dial versions. The hunger is big and is real. Be it Lapis, Coral, Marble, Bloodstone or Onyx, we see more custom made aftermarket stone dials than originals and no wonder, the market is dry, very dry. This makes us even more happy to have sourced a beautiful example of the Onyx dial Day Date. And this is not all, the watch has the mesmerizing Bark finish with 12 diamond markers on the bezel and bracelet.

Brief History
Rolex Day-Date
Arguably one of the most iconic watches ever made, the Day-Date aka the Rolex President was introduced in 1956 and was the first to feature both the day and date in dedicated windows on the dial.
The Day-Date is the top model in the Rolex line-up and comes in an array of configurations with rare and special dials and case decorations. It has only ever been made in precious metals with Automatic movements and historically with an elegant diameter of 36mm - the perfect size for an iconic dress watch.
