Glamorous Datejust
The Datejust is probably the most iconic watch from the Rolex line up and we guess its also the most ever sold model to date. Having been produced in numerous configurations the 1601 with fluted bezel seems to take the crown when it comes to the iconic status of the watch.
Here's a very handsome and well retained Rolex Datejust 16234 with white gold bezel and insanely beautiful Blue Vignette Diamond dial. To explain the configuration, stainless steel case, white gold bezel, sapphire crystal and automatic movement with quickset date function. The watch dates back to 1991 but wears like a contemporary watch, solid and waterproof. I would call it the best of both worlds, the original case dimensions paired with a vintage and unique look.
The case is sharp and well defined showing a beautiful and fine silhouette. The lugs are long and crisp, don’t show any signs of polish. Further we cannot find any imperfections with the naked eye, the watch seems to have been worn sparingly and showing very minimal wear. The fluted white gold bezel is sharp and crisp, showing beautiful factory finish.
The bracelet is only showing very light stretch from age and not much visible wear. Very sharp and crisp, from the end links to the clasp.
The stunner is the Blue Vignette diamond dial which has beautiful aesthetics with the degrading blue color, accentuated with the diamond markers. Notable here is that these Vignette or ‘Degrade’ dials have been manufactured with the same lacquer that was used for Stella dials but in a centrifugal technique that creates the mesmerizing degrading effect with the strong vibrant color in the center of the dial which becomes darker towards the edge. The edge has a feel of being black when looked at it from the distance however this is a very dark hue of blue, not black like on counterfeit dials.
This is a watch you don't need to loupe, you just look at it and know that everything is good. Well if that was not already enough, this watch comes with its original Rolex Warranty Certificate from Hong Kong dated 1992 and Service Invoice and booklets.
