Jurassic Park       - hard  to believe that Rolex went that far to use millions of years old petrified fossils for their dials but as we can see here, they did, and we are not surprised. We don't believe there are many of these out there. Slicing a piece of fossilized stone, cutting and stone setting it does not sound like many of these have survived manufacturing. This fossilized stone is absolute mesmerizing you only see the fossilized stone when under magnification, with the naked eye it looks like a very finely dotted piece of stone and the gilt print only enhances the look, paired with the 10 diamonds we find on the dial. There are two colors of the fossilized stone, a bright color one and a dark, almost black color. The one offered here is in a light cream color. The watch around the dials is magnificent too, this 18238 is in NOS condition and has never been worn or polished. The watch is a feast for the eyes and looks so good. We are happy to offer this exceptionally rare Day Date with papers in a rare 'New old Stock' condition. You don't need a loupe to see that this watch is of highest quality.

Brief History

Rolex Day-Date

Rolex revolutionized the industry in 1956 with the Day-Date model, innovatively displaying the day and date through dedicated windows on the dial. It is the pinnacle of the Rolex collection with its multitude of configurations. Made exclusively from precious metals, featuring coveted dials like Onyx, Stone, and Stella, and often embellished with diamond settings and distinctive case decorations.
