The Fossil/Jurassic Park Day Date      -      yes, though its tough to believe that Rolex went that far to use millions of years old petrified fossils for their dials but as we can see here, they did, and we are not surprised. We don't believe there are many of these out there. Slicing a piece of fossilized stone, cutting and stone setting it does not sound like many of these have survived manufacturing.  This fossilized stone is absolute mesmerizing. you only see the fossilized stone when under magnification, with the naked eye it looks like a very finely dotted piece of stone and the gilt print only enhances the look, paired with the 10 diamonds we find on the dial. The watch is a feast for the eyes and looks so good. We are happy to offer this exceptionally rare Day Date with box and correct punched papers from Paris.

Brief History

Rolex Day-Date

Arguably one of the most iconic watches ever made, the Day-Date aka the Rolex President was introduced in 1956 and was the first to feature both the day and date in dedicated windows on the dial.

The Day-Date is the top model in the Rolex line-up and comes in an array of configurations with rare and special dials and case decorations. It has only ever been made in precious metals with Automatic movements and historically with an elegant diameter of 36mm - the perfect size for an iconic dress watch.
