Details
Rose dial 3940P - The 3940 reference was launched in the mid 1980s and stayed in production until 2006. It was produced in yellow, rose and yellow gold with platinum being the top category of the 3940. The 3940 is a understated and timeless watch, with its super slim 36mm case it is a daily companion and smooth on the wrist. With its platinum case it wears heavier than the gold models but remains subtle and elegant. The symmetric alignment of the three registers makes it well balanced on the wrist. The slightly recessed counters at 3 and 9 gives the brushed dial some depth and contrast. The moon phase is positioned at 6 and contrasts beautifully with the rest of the dial. The dial on this year 2000 example has aged beautifully from silver to a consistent rose color making this piece very unique. The color is so perfectly aged that we could guess this is a factory color the dial was made in. The closed case back unfortunately doesn't allow to admire the beautifully finished caliber with decentralized rotor and Genevian seal and stripes. The watch comes in a beautiful full set with Certificate of origin from Paris, all booklets, pouch and set of boxes. The dial on this example is to die for.
