Details
The Tropical Jubilee - To mark the 20th Anniversary of the Royal Oak, Audemars Piguet launched the reference 14802, a Limited Edition of 1000 pieces of which 280 are in yellow gold, 20 in platinum and 700 in stainless steel. The main difference was the new see through sapphire case back giving a beautiful insight of the legendary Car.2121, the engraved skeletonized 21K gold rotor makes the back of the watch look almost as attractive as the front. The dial features the petite tapisserie 'Clous de Paris' guilloche pattern which is lightly different to the one on the 5402ST, the AP logo is positioned at 12 o'clock. This particular example is extremely well preserved and retains its strong condition of the case, bezel and bracelet but what makes it truly stand out from the crowd is the very unique Tropical dial. It has aged to a stunning dark brown chocolate color like we have never seen before on a 14802. The condition of the dial is almost flawless with no loss of material, tool marks or any sort of scratches. It still features all white graphics as well as the original Tritium on the indexes. We feel the 14802 is one of the most desirable Royal Oaks, being a 39mm Jumbo sized Limited Edition of only 1000pcs and featuring the best of the 5402 and 15202.
